Tuesday just after 3PM crew of Station 34 (Llanerch) were alerted to a house fire just down the street from their fire house on Darby Road. The box alarm was requested by 34-9 as he found 2.5 story twin wood frame house with a working fire and a subject trapped on the second floor.
The initial working fire brought Company 34, Engine 35 (Brookline) Rescue 58 (Bon Air). Upon transmission of the working fire RIT 38(Oakmont) was dispatched. A second alarm was requested due to the volume of fire and risk of spread to additional nearby exposures. The second brought Engine Company 58 and additional units. Several special calls for apparatus were made. In all, the 5 fire companies in Havertown responded in addition Highland Park and Drexel Hill assisted. In all the size of the response brought the fire to a 3rd alarm.
Fire was contained to the initial structure and attached exposure.
